Annette began her career in 2002 as a law clerk assisting in commercial and other litigious matters.  Annette now represents her clients primarily in the Supreme and District Courts of New South Wales, the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia.  Annette’s experience extends to assisting clients in applying for recognition of judgments obtained from Chinese courts for purposes of enforcement.  Other than the Commonwealth of Australia, Annette has also provided valuable assistance to clients who have proceedings in other common law countries.

–    Acting for a publicly listed company in successfully defending an action brought by its former executive: Atkinson v Vmoto Limited and others [2012] FWA 9043–    Successfully recovered monies taken by the client’s former spouse as a result of fraud and recovered all reasonable costs for client: Chen v Gu; Chen v Nguyen [2011] NSWSC 1622; Chen v Gu; Chen v Nguyen (No. 2) [2012] NSWSC 199

Carrie was born in Hong Kong and was educated in Hong Kong, Canada and Australia. Having lived in 3 different countries has deepened her appreciation in the importance of understanding and respecting the laws and cultures of different races. And as a result, Carrie has always been able to communicate effectively with clients and maximise the benefits of their matters.

Carrie has a wide range of expertise while focusing on migration, criminal and litigation matters. She has assisted numerous clients to be released from migration detention centres, in addition to successfully obtaining spouse visas for clients without a current visa. She has helped her clients in applying for bail in criminal matters, and has also been able to consistently obtain “no conviction recorded” for her clients’ theft, assault and sex offences. Carrie is equally experienced in civil litigation matters and has aided many clients in recovering their money back in court.

Patty Zhang

Patty has been working in the legal industry since 2008 and started in the property transaction team. She has since assisted client in purchasing, selling property and business. Patty also specialises in contract drafting for land acquisition for developers, and submissions to government department in relation to stamp duty and GST private rulings. Patty has spent the last three years in China advising and assisting Chinese clients in property purchase and has extensive understanding of different parties’ (such as individual client, developer, agent etc) positions and requirements. As such, she is able to offer advice to clients will having the full picture in mind.

Patty is also experienced in criminal law, has assisted client in successfully defending AVO matters, negotiated with the police to achieve Section 10 sentencing. She has further assisted clients in providing character reference letters for court, for both private clients and legal aid clients. Patty has similarly been involved in numerous serious drug-related matters, and have aided client in many cases while achieving the best possible sentencing result in each individual case.
